Tranny issue, high rpm lock out

I was told when I bought my car that the input shaft had wear and was causing it to not shift into gears at high rpm. Sometimes when I'm slowing down and push in the clutch it doesn't release and you can still feel it wanting to pull till you take it out of gear. It doesn't grind except if you go from neutral to reverse, but if you put it in 3rd then into reverse it doesn't grind. So before I tear into this I thought I would see what everyone else thinks. Maybe replace input shaft.... possible clutch rebuild? Also fyi it has a "SPEC SuperTwin P-Spec clutch (4,000 miles – no launches)" this is what I was told.

your sycros is the one that locks the gears in order to shift. If your replacing the input shaft, you also have to replace the output shaft and the throw out bearing.

I'm the original owner of the car. Before the SPEC clutch, there was a Tilton twin-cerametallic clutch in the care that caused some spline wear on the input shaft. This created a small step on the input shaft splines that prevents the clutch from releasing cleanly. A new input shaft should solve the problem.

There is no need to replace the output shaft and throw out bearing when replacing the input shaft.

Yea thanks I remembered that was what you said was wrong with it. Really wanting to find an input shaft to fix this issue cause other than that it's great. Anyone have a good used one or a good place to get a new one. Most used ones in the FS section are sold already and haven't found many options for new ones.

oh, my bad i just took manual tranny class and maybe i understood it wrong.
So is it the output that you need to change with the countershaft because
they are in constant mesh?

Ok so about to pull the tranny, Anyone know a good place to buy an input shaft? I found teamrip sells tranny parts, is there anyone else? Also going to research still but should I go to the evo 9 1st gear ratio since it is a 2.785, and read that the 9's input shaft is more durable.
