late spool on a 50 trim (help)
Tom - AFRs fluctuate 0.5 pts from just 15 degrees? I'm in socal and generally don't see more than 30 degree fluctuation year round, but I don't think my AFRs change that much. I guess i need to do some more logging.
Also, may I ask your opinion on fast spool- I have seen two paths run rich and run lean. Which do you like to do ? I think my spool up could be better optimized. TIA

Tom - Thanks for the advice. I just did my first log in a long time today and I will look at it and get your thoughts. I think I am 85% there with my tune - just need to tweak the partial boost areas and see if I can improve the tip in / spool up area.
I know what I really need is to get cams and possibly a better FMIC. Thanks again!

Well I logged my car yesterday and I am definitely too rich from ~3300 to 4500 (currently 11.5 to 10.8 vs. more like what I should be 12 or 12.5). It will be interesting to see if changing the AFRs ~0.5 pts or so really helps my spool up (other areas seem to be spot on) - post 4500 rpm 11.5 AFR solid.

so i read a few forums on the tephramod v7...is this a do it yourself program u put on your computer or a program alot of dynotuners use? seems like it does quite alot on a stock ecu. is this a good route or would an aem ems be better for those who have the money to upgrade?

Well I really think it depends on what you are looking to do with your car. In California you need to keep the factory ECU for emissions purposes and I'd imagine the same is true for NY (but no idea). I also think the factory ECU is completely fine for 99% of cars out there - there are a number of 600hp+ cars on the factory ECU.
This (Ecuflash) is NOT just a DIY thing...Ecuflash has been used since 2006 to flash Evo ECUs and most (if not all) of the professional tuners have embraced it and use it daily to tune cars...If you find a tuner that says that don't use it, move on to someone else...
