throwout bearing failure question

Last month we had an issue with my gfs evo 8. Started acting funny while cruising at 60mph. Felt reallly sluggish and I had to add more throttle to compensate for it feeling like something was causing the car to almost feel like I was dragging something heavy. I merge to the right and just before I came to a stop all 4 tires came to a skid. The engine will not to this day run unles the clutch is pressed in if you let it out even if the trans isn't in gear. Im just wondering if this is maybe a TB issue or something within the trans? I already ordered a new trans and t case from AWDmotorsports but id like to know what could have gone wrong besides just replacing most of the drivetrain parts. Thanks in advance for the input guys.

usually if it locks up, it's because something in the tranny or TC got too hot and seized. That's due to little or no fluids. same thing happened to me, and it was because of the transmission. when I bought the car there was next to no fluid in the tranny that the input or output (can't remember which) seized and locked up all four wheels.

it's one of those but since you purchased both new, don't sweat it. you have to replace the tob anyways. I don't think it's possible for it to lock up. sell the old tranny and tc for parts to compensate for the new ones.

I got the t-case out tonight and it spins freely but I tried for hours and the trans is stuck to the clutch disk or I don't know if these cars have pilot bearings. I got the trans about an inch away from the motor just so I can see the flywheel but I tried everything I could to get the trans off the motor and nothing has worked..

You have to release the throwout bearing before you can take the tranny off. It'll stay stuck to the clutch until you do so.....
