I held it far away the housing itself and moved it back and forth quickly. It wasn't a directed burst of air.

Most times when that heated wire gets coated with anything its game over.

I wanted to add to this thread since I read this as well as other forums before I decided to use the CRC MAF cleaner on my car.

I used it a week ago on my EVO X MR as well as changed my air filter and the car is working great
The code cleared, my car is running smoother without hestation on acceleration and idle like before.

Albeit, it may have been a combination of the filter change and the MAF sensor being cleaned... or maybe just the air filter change - however, in regards to if the CRC MAF cleaner damages the EVO X sensor, so far that seems untrue.

Hope this helps others make a decision. Peace!

An old thread I know. I used CRC MAF cleaner and I think the new issues I'm having are from the cleaner. When I reset the ECU, the AFR is fine, but over time it start to lean out really bad. It didn't do that before, but started happening after I used the cleaner. I haven't replaced it as yet, but it is suspect to me.
