and thanks mellon for those advice to get 700whp
Yes you can....You could also call FP (Robert) and ask him what he thinks you should do....You could also call Buschur/AMS/ETS/TTP/STM/AWD or any other shop you like and get their advice too .

Good luck with your quest for more hp...

You can call FP and have a direct replacement .82 housing.

on a buschur cast kit, your gonna have to go through them to get a back housing. its not the same back housing as the T3 FP turbos

and if your gonna switch to a tubular manifold theres more to it then just getting a manifold and backhousing. i remember buschur talking about this before.

i would recommend the .82 housing for that turbo

BR used 2 backhousing styles on their cast manny kits. If you have the T3 style you can switch to a larger a/r housing. The mitsu style housing you can not unless they started making larger housings since the last time I checked.

Your "proof " is anecdotal so please show dyno graphs to support your position. The "proof " should not be the apples to oranges comparison where you swapped to a larger a/r and swapped to a larger compressor wheel.

I suspect we will see a clear difference if someone presents dyno plots showing just an a/r swap for a similar setup and similar boost.

I don't think you can cut a standard Garrett 5-bolt housing for a 35R turbine wheel, but I believe the T31 Garrett housing can be cut for that wheel. I think Precision casts a 5-bolt turbine housing that can be cut for a 35R turbine wheel.

Huh..

I was just saying that if his kit uses a DSM style housing it cant be upgraded.

Sorry, I had read the kit description from Buschur's website and was making an observation since it uses the T31 housing and others.

Buschur Cast HTA35

The standard turbine housing is the T31 housing in 2.5" outlet for compact installation applications such as 4G63. Other turbine housings styles are available.

Repeated dyno testing and thousands of miles of street punishment have shown how much faster spooling the HTA is compared to the normal 35R. Midrange and bottom end torque which are usually dismal in regular .82 A/R GT35r kit cars are DRAMATICALLY improved with HTA compressor technology!

I did a quick search and I think there is enough information in the post below for people to make an informed decision.

Mr. Buschur: HTA 35R with .63 hotside instead of .82?

I see I've made your sig quote, I guess you think that's somehow making me look bad. My point is that there's plenty of guys that talk about what works and then there's a few of us who actually tried the parts and know from experience what works.

I went from a hta3582 .63 at 30psi making 600awhp to a hta3586 .82 at 30psi and made no more power, only increased the lag. Again at higher pressure on race gas I'm sure there would be some gains by going from a .63 to .82

that's all I'm going to say on this subject, I'm trying to keep others from making a big mistake.

without actual dynosheets this discussion is useless.
