I have read alot that limit on 4g63 is around 450 tq.

With that would a 35r be more reliable on the motor than the red because it would more than likely make less torque?
And wouldn't an fp red be safer than fp green because it would be really pushing itself to make the same power and make more torque?
I want to keep the bottom end stock if possible

My mods

-Precision 880cc injectors-
-Hks 272s cams-
-Crower Titanium Springs and Retainers
-Cometic Head Gasket-
-Arp Head Studs-
-Aem intake-
-Hallman Mbc-
-Espirlir Jgt 500 Cat back-
-Greddy 3 inch inter cooler-
-Synapse bypass valve-
-Megan Down pipe-
-Clutch masters stage 4 clutch-
-Quaff Diff-

what would the reliablity be with the fp red on the stock motor?
I just wanted to get some 2nd opinions on this

my car is basically identical to yours !!! SAME parts just different companies and i made on 25psi 440whp and 400wtq and i have 63,000 miles on my evo9 the car is a absolute animal and from wat everyone told me if u stay under 450wtq ur car shud be fine

GET THE FP RED 84mm SURGE PORT !! you wont regret it !!

Never a hiccup out of the car. AFRs are about 11.6 tuned with the AEM so really its all about just having a safe tune... I have a friend with an EVO 8 running the Green and his block seems to be holding up just fine. I think he's had it on car for about a year now. Can't remember the numbers of the top of my head though. If you're worried about torque popping your motor, why not just throw in some ARPs and call it a day? My block has Mahle pistons, ARP head studs, and Cosworth bearings. The bearings and pistons are a must in a suby since the pistons are not forged from the factory and the rod bearings have been known to spin in cars at or over 500whp. Stock Sti rods are forged though so the bearings are really what needs to be upgraded. I think the red is a great dd turbo though for the power and spool, and can be used very reliably day in and day out. On pump I only tuned it for 15 psi and it makes 380whp so it's extremely conservative.
You also have to remember that RED is spooling up on a 2.5 vs our 2.0 so its going to be quicker.

I vote HTA Green for DD but I am in a similiar debate between the HTA Green vs BBKB. Good luck! I just can't justify spending $300+ dollars on an oil feed/install kit is my problem with FP.

no always true ^ just because its a 2.5 doesn't mean it spools faster. evo has higher compression ratio and also have you seen how the sti turbo is set up? The evo is setup better and the path is alot shorter.

I voted FP Green, assuming you mean the 73HTA FP Green.

Yes the hta green is a nice piece.

Really leaning towards red. For the fact that I will have have 450whp 400wtq pump map and hopefully 500whp 420ish wtq on e85. I can't really see getting the green and making less hp and having to detune the torque on e85. Plus detuning the timing will make it spool up slower.

*numbers are just estimates.

Personally, I just ordered an FP Red+Intake for SD from AWD for when I get back from Afghanistan.

Have 2,000 miles on my FP Red and I've been very impressed with how balanced the turbo is (IMO) between spool-up and top-end power, both pluses in my book. I ran the track time in my signature at 427hp, but nothing yet after fixing a few things and a re-tune. For reference, I have the small cover and stock oil line, since neither were around when I put it on.
