Ever since my car has sat in a garage overnight, I dont have the problem. The car already has an exedy twin in it. I am gonna be adjusting the clutch fri, along with bleeding the system.

Could be the fluid, but sounds like the clutch is dragging. May be a faulty clutch or like others said, bleed the slave cylinder. Changing both the fluid and bleeding the slave are simple. Get those two out of the way before jumping to conclusions.

If the car lurches forward when you put it into gear or force it into gear, the clutch IS dragging, and there could be multiple reasons as to why. Air in slave cylinder, clutch fork is worn, faulty clutch, etc.

My car does this as well. I notice it more in the cold, but still does it on occasion when it's warm. I've been using AMSoil for 10k miles, but switching to something else in 5000 miles. Alos going to bleed the slave and see if it helps. I've driven many cars other than Evo's, that have a slight lurch forward when placing into first gear. Seems almost common for a car with an aftermarket clutch to do this.

Clutch drags when cold but okay when hot - clutch slightly out of adjustment. Car wants to go forward in neutral when extremely cold - thick gear oil.

ok, found this on lancershop.com. does it really work? seems to be a common problem on aftermarket clutches.

"When running clutches like the Exedy Single, Dual, and Triple Clutch Kits. Problems have been known to exist; due to clutch not fully disengaging.

With this machined clutch extender rod, your clutch will properly work. Save your transmission, and save your synchros.

Machined from strong 4140 chromium-molybdenum steel (not some weak mild steel from a local hardware store) and built 1/4" shorter than stock, this modified clutch slave cylinder rod will give you a plenty of clutch adjustment range without maxing out.

A recommended upgrade when replacing or rebuilding the clutch slave cylinder on EVO with heavy clutch kits.

Fits Lancer Evolution VIII / IX "

Sorry to get involved but what does it mean that the clutch is dragging?

Mine was being a little pain in the same way. I just adjusted my clutch pedal out. Didn't want to do it too much because I want to be in spec for operating temp. Worked for me
