Thanks Erik, are you still running MT 85 as of 2013?

I know this is pretty old thread,
My EVO IX is slightly modified and I was wondering if I can use the MT85 or should I use Redline lightweight shock proof?

I just changed my trans oil to mt85 and i found it alot more better than the previous cocktails mt90+mtl mixed. Alot more smoother even during engine cold.

You guys pay a lot for the OEM 75W-85 diaqueen. It's about $85 here for 4L ($21.25/qt) whereas the Redline MT85/MT09/MTL are all $25/qt. Amsoil MTG 75-90 is $27/qt. Stupid Australia Tax.

I was going to try the Redline MT85, but given how Jacks transmissions raves about the diaqueen 75w-85 when used in the 5-speed (says it was designed to "keep the 6-speed alive" and that it gives the best syncronizer performance and best teeth surface/bearing wear characteristics) it's hard to pay $4/qt extra for an oil that is supposedly not as good.

I hope my gearbox likes it. I'll monitor feel and wear (any dust on drain plug) and see how it goes.
