So my friend has a IX Mr. Today we were doing a third gear pull to set the mbc for e85. Well after that third gear pull the third and fourth gears are so damn hard to shift. It feels as if there is a rubber piece in there that's keeping it from going into gear. You litterly have to use a lot of strength to get the car to shift into 3rd and 4th. Every other gear shifts perfect! What could this possibly be? I have searched the site for answers as well and other sites and no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ive heard that the 4th gear is the one that goes on the 6spd so thats a possibility

 

Did u check the shifter bushings?

 

^^^ +1 that and check the bushings and cables for the shifter to make sure no binding or loose anything....

 

I'm going to check the bushings and cables today. It litterly feels like the stick is going to break if you push any harder.

 

Bent rail/fork more than likely.

 

Sounds likely assuming the shifter assembly isn't to blame.

 

Had the same problem......It was the 3rd-4th assembly
