Hey guys I am changing an 8 back to stock, putting a stock motor back in with the stock ECU. Taking out the AEM out, but with both new units being stock is there the need to have the car custom flashed and dynoed?

 

Yes due to the ecu having a possible flash already on it...better safe than sorry

 

as long as the ecu has the stock map and your mods very basic you will be alright...

 

even if the ecu has been flashed you dont need any dyno tuning or custom tuning to make it a stock rom again.. you can get a stock image and just flash it to the ecu yourself.

 

They are wanting like $395. to do this and I dont think it needs to be done. I am new to the Evo world and purchased the car for my son.

 

Agreed Just flash a stock rom back to the car.

 

you need a tactrix cable and to download ecuflash..you can find a stock map on the ecuflash website i believe.. or just ask in the ecuflash forum.

 

Def get a custom tune

 

Unless you have he money to buy a new motor id rather be safe then sorry and just get a tune to be safe but thats just me
