Question 3" GM MAF Question

So when I bought my car, it came with a 3" GM MAF and MAF translator. Ok, I can work with that and learn about it, no big deal. My real question here is about the BOV. I currently have a 9 bov but I was wondering if it would hurt to run a VTA and just get an SD type intake. Of should I just leave it the hell alone, lol? Here's the setup currently.

Run SD...(get rid of the MAF / MAF translator)....or just get the stock MAF ...

Change the filter while you are at it too....

It should be OK to go VTA since the sensor is after the BOV. The ecu will see less air and should compensate with less fuel. I've never used a gm maf, only read about them, but if the translator is set up right you shouldn't have a problem. If it starts acting up, then through the IX valve back in there.

Why do you say to get rid of the MAF translator? It's set up perfect right now and I have absolutely no issues. I really just want to run either a VTA or run the IX BOV from the upper intake pipe because I don't like my BOV and lines being so close to the manifold. Can I recirc the bov from the uicp to the intake or does it HAVE to be done the other way around?

Keep the MAF and the translator we have made over 800whp on that setup before. This was before SD. If the care runs fine and makes the power you want, then there is nothing to do but change out that BOV and intake. Good lord get rid of that filter

Don't fix it, if its not broken. But that filter comes factory "broken" haha.

Go to Turbosmart Raceport 50mm VTA blow off valve because its pure bad *** (Pm me for a price) and snag up a ETS SD intake, which I can also hook you up with.

I've always noticed that my car idles beautifully with the MAFT and a GM MAF compared to a mitu unit in all of my testing. No hacks, no SD, no this or that/just minor scaling adjustments.

The stock EVO MAF just sucks at handling idle fueling with larger turbo's, MAF pipes, IC pipes, etc. WOT and P/T cruise is spot on though time after time.

+1. If it works great, why swap it out? GM MAF's are easy to come by and easy to visually inspect also.

Keep the gm mas and maft thats a good setup. I would leave the stock bov recirc tho until you get an aftermarket one. Oh and to answer your question ya you can put the Bov on the uicp and run the recirc tube to the intake. You may need to reedo the recirc pipe tho.
