How to recognize bad Idle Control Valve???

Try to find someone with evoscan and hit the activate button for the idle screw and see what the idle goes to.

If I take the IACV out of throttle body and turn ignition on, how much should it move (distance). How many times should it do it???

This all sounds like its VTA valve on cars with MAF

mines idling like 2300 starting and staying there while in neutral car runs fine when driving until clutch is needed or in neutral.
not sure what it is the Iac isn’t moving when turning ignition.
