We have TRE stage 2.5 transmissions in stock and Shep Street/Strip with all options including 4:11 final drive in stock.
PM me if your interested.
Funny... TRE got my rear diff turned around in 1 day. That was in the middle of the race season last year.

Em was running a TRE transmission when he was running 9's. surprise!

TRE has been the leader in Mitsu transmissions forever. He has equipment, knowledge and experience that nobody else has, and his drivetrain builds show it. Look at his web page for information on shot peening, gear modification, and compare the work that is done in each stage against any of the other shops.

I'm looking for a shop that does one thing, concentrates on doing it the best, figures out how to improve the product, and invests in the (expensive) machinery it takes to do that. TRE does all of the above.

DB, think about it this way. I'll keep reading, talking to people who have done things for 20 or 40 years, and benefiting from the information and insight they give me. I'll evaluate what I read, and apply what makes sense. Technical fields build on what others have learned and passed on. There's a ton to be learned in any technical field, and reading is one way to get information quickly. Asking questions of people who know, and are willing to share their knowledge works even better. I do both.

There's always something useful you can learn from what other people have done, studied, and discovered. Give it a try, see what you can learn.

Since you're a direct competitor for these shops, but were not even mentioned by the OP, and since you don't have any of the capability or equipment needed to do much of the work TRE does in their rebuilds, I can understand why you'd want folks to believe that its all unnecessary. That's OK. We get it.

David, just for referance. Isn't it the little details that make all the difference as in the case with your RS. It would be hard for someone else to replicate your car and the powerband it has without sending it to you and I still don't think you'd replicate every single part. While I do agree with you on how little it takes to make the stock tranny drive and last, I also feel that the services that Jon offers makes them better. Now I don't have my drivetrain components installed so hence, don't speak from personal experience but, after speaking with Emery, my decision was made easier. He told me that TRE built him the best shifting tranny he's ever had and he's had a few from others. We did not get into who exactly. Emery, sorry for bringing you into this. Also, he has had his Tcase and rear diff serviced by TRE and they've held up pretty good. I figure if it can last in his car, it will certainly be fine for me. I have no doubt that you and Shep do great work, but just as there are services that you offer that nobody else can, so does TRE.

David, you are correct when you imply that a company will sell you **** on stick and say it's a vanilla popsicle. I've never taken a manufacturer's word as gospel and prefer to seek out consumers who have real world experience. If they are someone whose accomplishments merit something, then yes, that's good enough for me. Just to reiterate my point, I don't believe there are any BAD TRANNY builders out there, just good, better and best.

Jacks trans.

yeah id like to talk to jack himself to ask him what happened i always seem to get someone eles. . it seems like Jack went out of his way for you. Thats Great..Well im happy i talked to jacks today and they agreed to reimburse repair work needed on the slave cyl mount bracket. when that reimbursment goes through i will take down my post ..i really dont go on here and post anything unless somthing really errkks me i mean cmon i have left 4 posts and ive been a member since 2007. and since 2003 on DSM tuners. ive spent tens of thousands with other companies and never go post stuff insulting them and requesting refunds.. i just dont do that for no reason . Well jacks taking care of me and we both came to a agreement..im satisfied and thats all i wanted. I am wrong for not giving them enough time to get back to me and giving them the chance to resolve any issues.

I just had my tranny built by sherpard transmissions. Those guys were super cool and very easy to deal with. Not only were they good guys but they had my tranny turned around quickly and it looks great! Thanks sheptrans

At this point i was so FU@!$#* MAD at how unprofessional there excuse for a Quick fix mickey mouse JB weld on a high stress point of the tranny was that i wrote them an Email and called and left a message,,GOOD LUCK TALKING TO ANYBODY they will ignore ur calls and never call u back..so email is the only way to contact them . I am FURIOUS that they ruined my threads on that mount and cracked the tranny and slapped some jbweld on the high stress location of the crack .. they didnt give me all my Nuts and bolts back (lucky i have a whole drawer full of various spares) ,when i spin the input shaft all gears besides second gear sounds like u are sawing a wood saw to the side of the tranny.. they say they have a 14 month warranty but good luck even getting a response back after they make the sale and take your money..Remember this is after waiting 2 months to get my tranny back ..i cant even stomach the thought of having to send it back in before i even put 1 miles on it. and wating another 2-3 months and re paying the $220 round trip shipping to fix it when they should have never even sent it to me like this with smashed threads ,cracked busted case at slave cyl mount location and jb weld to fix it on a spot that needs to handle the pressures of the clutch slave cyl.i never even put 1 mile on it but the sounds it makes by spinning the input shaft with my hand leads me to belive that there JB weld fix is the good news. . we will see what they will do about this if i ever get a call or email back from them , we will see tommorow if they have any sense of customer service and standing behind there product. now the wait begins im planning on my evo being down for at least 6 months now. THIS is my personal experience ..Id much have rather spent the $100 more and gone with Shep or TRE if i could turn back time 2 long months....my trans came back in worse shape then when i sent it to them ..looks like they just throw the tranny around and hammer the slave cyl. mount in order to seperate the case or somthing..they then spray paint it with silver paint and toss a few hundred marbles inside the case. i will post on any further development and if jacks takes care of this lemon rebuild i will take back all i said besides the 5-6 month wait.

Good god mate, paragraphs go along way. How is anyone suppose to read that?

I agree, it's tough to read without paragraphs.

Did you read any threads about Jacks. Most of us here in CO use him. He usually only works nights. So if you call around 6-12 pm our time you should get in contact with him. This was posted by me on another thread.

As i said I use him for my tranny 750HP holds up fine. I had one small problem and he drove up here with his truck and let me have his truck for a week while he was working on my Evo. His customer service skills are top notch.

So the stuff you say it's unfortunate but it's not the same Jack's that I'm used to dealing with. Also he was changing shops and that could have been the delay.

Sorry to hear, hope everything turns out ok once you get in contact with Jack.

Shep here. Second choice would be a Bushwacker.

I just got my tranny back from Shep 2 days ago, I have yet to install it but I will say that while others in this thread have talked about delays in turn around time, that was not my experience. I was called a few days after fedex picked up the tranny and than 2 days later it was done and I recieved a tracking number from fedex. Very fast turn around time.
