Like new 5 speed trans!!!

I have a freshly built trans but the bell housing is dirty , I know I should've done it while the trans was being built but time was very limited. I need to know what are some good ways to make it look like new just like Shep or Jack trans would do it ? Is there any paint I can use? Please people chime in thanks.

they bead blast it i believe.. but depending how dirty it is and how motivated you are.. wd40 can make it look pretty good.

i think they paint it after the bead blast also.. i seen someone else do this recently themselves and it turned out good.. hopefully he will comment in here for you.

look for some acidic aluminum wheel cleaner, makes cast aluminum look BRAND new. The stuff I have is called Alumi-wash, IIRC. Just make sure you rinse it off good after

Thanks for the advice everyone who has posted so far, someone mentioned that aircraft paint remover will eat up all the grease , I also need to find a way to plug all the holes, the last thing I need is for water to get inside the trans.

Just use Simple Green or a good engine degreaser....I personally use Griots Engine Degreaser - safe, environmentally friendly, and it works...

Non-diluted simple green or something even stronger, spray it on, clean it with a stiff brush and keep repeating and hose it off or one of the best is with a steam cleaner (super hot pressure washer) but most people don't have access to one.

Theres not many holes to get water IN the trans but theres spots to get it in the clutch area and on the clutch parts. I don't know where the vent is on the trans but that's prob the only place the water can get inside the trans....remember theres oil in the trans if there was an open hole oil would be leaking out
