I ordered the LPS online and it was around 40 I think shipped to the house. So far I have noticed an improvement. But I also replace my IAC gasket too

I did the newb mistake of scrubbing off the black coating behind the plate. Cause now when I'm rolling to a stop my afr is bouncing from 13 to flat-lining off the gauge and can no longer maintain 14-15. When I'm coming to a complete stop from a roll, my rpm will rise to 2000 before tapering down to 1500. Also, I'm idling at about 1500-1600 rpm. Would replacing the coating on the throttle body plate fix these issues? Cause I would hate to realize that I caused more extensive damage than I should due to my lack of knowledge on proper care and maintenance on my evo.

Yes, you need to recoat the throttle body and it will take care of your issue.

Relief to hear that it will. I know what my whole Sunday is gonna encompass lol. Just out of curiosity but would I need to disconnect the battery prior to removing the TB?

As a precaution, disconnect the battery any time you work with electrical connections.

By disconnecting the battery, wouldn't that reset the tune on the ECU?

Does the car become more responsive, etc when replacing the throttle body shaft seals oem worn out with Milspec? Notice much difference.. for example I replaced my stock coils with spoolinup & it was like wow heaps smoother!

depends on how bad your stock seals are leaking. could easily be an increase of 5-20 hp depending on how much they are leaking. as far as responsive and not being in boost, i cant see seals really making that big of a difference while in vacuum.

Can't ship to hawaii

bump.... but I made the same mistake, but I can't get that shipped to Hawaii since it's an areosol, is rtv another good substitute? Or should I try spray paint? My idle is exactly like the OPs and I'm SOL on the dry film moly. No shops around here have it
