It's right below 5th!!

Seriously though I would bring it back or at least go down there and start asking some questions!! Gears just don't magically disappear and if it shifted just fine without any notice of problems (like if the gear was grinding or acting up before hand) then my finger would most certainly point directly at the people who had their hands on it last. Although I'm confused on how they could have caused transmission (or linkage) damage with the parts you listed as being installed.

Did you look at the mileage of the car before you dropped it off and then after you picked it up? That's what I do whenever my car goes anywhere I don't trust or know so I can tell if they have been out hotrodding in it because you know that's exactly what a lot of shops are going to do. If they break something...well it's their word against yours and they will just say it came in that way!!

maybe they swapped out your tranny for a five speed and just swap your knob.

^lmao im sure they did that lol... but yea it sounds like a linkage got messed uo or something.. maybe they took the battery off and while they were doing that managed to hit the brackets or cables? somethings prob just with pinched or in the way of the cables.

I really hope it's the linkage it doesn't seem internal. Every other gear is perfect. And it wAs perfect in sixth before. My guess is they removed the battery box and others and something is still loose down there or they bent it removing or re installing I hope

pop the hood, check the linkage, see if anything is binding.

If its not the linkage, its a bent shift rail. That costs money.

Do I need to remove the battery tray and battery to see the linkage. All I see if the bronze elephantear looking thing that shovels left and right for each gear

Took it off nothing appears to be blocking the hub. I didn't find out that I can easily put the car in sixth from under the hood but still no improvement inside the car. What is that! A hub slider or something pinching the cable?

I would bring that thing back ASAP. Does the shop know about it yet? If not, let them know right away and let it be known what the issue is and that you expect them to fix it if that is the route you choose to take.

The linkage/cables/what-ever-you-wanna-call-them on the 6 speeds for whatever reason seems somewhat fragile. I am one of a few people locally that have had my MR shift linkage fail on me. It actually frayed and broke internally. If you choose to fix this yourself, I would look at that, make sure they aren't bound up anywhere as well as trying to adjusting your clutch pedal and bleeding your clutch. After I replaced my linkage, I still had issues getting into/finding 6th and reverse, and sometimes 1st until I bleed/adjusted my clutch.

I kind of wonder if when they did the wiring/routing the boost reference for the gauge, they didn't get something tangled up in the linkage under the center console...

sounds like someone took a joy ride in your car and beat it all up.

the more miles you put on it between when they had it, and when you get it back, strengthens their defense of "We didnt do it"
