zip ties for catch can hoses?

I just installed my saikou michi dual split catch cans, a few of the hoses that connect to the can are zip ties (along with a very snug fit from the hose) and some I put metal hose clamps. The question is do I need to use clamps on all of the hoses or are zip ties ok? any pressure built between the cans and the breather and pcv valve than can blow off zip tied hoses? Thanks for all input.

Zip ties might be fine. But why not just buy metal hose clamps at the local auto store?

I have tons of them, but it's just so hard to find a way to tighten them in these tight spots. It was also hard finding a mounting location for two cans in this engine bay.

Why the difficulty in tightening the clamps? What tool are you using?

you don't need to clamp down the hoses that go on the catch can inlets themselves, but you should use fuel line clamps on other stuff.. like the pcv area and the intake manifold.

also, make sure you place a check valve inbetween the line that goes from the catch can attached to the intake manifold so the catchcan can not become pressurized from the intake manifold. these work great: http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/ite...6844&catid=489

btw.. great choice on catch can.. they kick major ***.. fully functional can and works extremely well.

Like TScomp said, make sure you put in a check valve like that, or if you got the money get a crank vent it's made especially for the purpose

same thing.. this plastic piece is just as good as any metal piece. i have the heavy duty ones as well, but I'm not installing them if the plastic ones are working well (which they are). if they work on my setup they will work on anyones.

Check valves came in. Now where do I put the check valve, in between the pcv and can or IM and can? Also which way should it face? Flowing side facing towards the valve cover or towards the IM? And is here a good spot to put it? Like right by the valve over or right by the IM, or next to any of the barbs or the cans?
