Evo 8 will not idle on its own!

Hello everyone, I'm new Evo 8 owner and I'm have ran into an issue. Over the weekend i was going to do my clutch, but I ran into some other issues (exhaust
) so I did not get a chance to do it. A few days later I get in my car, start it, and it wont idle. I can drive it by holding the break and accelerator at the same time also. I was looking at some treads but I did not come across anyone with the exact same problem. The only things I took out was the battery and trey, intercooler pipe, and some hoses on the top. Is it the IAC or something I did not hook back up? Or something else. I don't know thats why I need help please!

could be IAC, there are also some vacuum lines on the back of the intake manifold. Just going to have to go over it one area at a time and see if something's not hooked back up.. if you can't find anything, do a boost leak test next

Well i think i may have found my problem. The teeth on my IAC are almost completely gone. Here is a pic. http://i1094.photobucket.com/albums/...8/IMAG0016.jpg

I'm going to order one and see if that does the trick! Wish me luck.

Damn, that thing is expensive and it's year sensitive as well. Mitsu have different part# for the different year/model and you have to get the right one or else it won't work. 03 and 04 are probably the same, but 05 and 06 are different for sure. I'm guessing that's it's do to the turbo size. 05 has the 10.5 hotside and the 06 turbo has the different intake side.

Yup, becoming more and more common on the 03/04's.

And yup, they are pricey!

Yes MAF is plugged in. I'm assuming when i put everything back together and my intake manifold pipe came off it probably destroy it ? I found a used IAC on ebay and I'm going to take a chance it 54 or 350 brand new, I will try the used one first. It carries a 30 day warranty so I will see what happens. I will let everyone know if this was the solution to my problem.
