still not sure what intake manifold to get - looking to break 600whp

need some help deciding what intake manifold to get. i am currently running a 2.4(4g64) with ported heads, fs635 turbo, stock throttle body, ets fmic and manifold. car currently pushed 555whp on 92 oct. i am running a slightly ported oem intake manifold.

i am looking at a driven innovations large plenum manifold, but i have not read much about it, however, there is more info on the small plenum manifold. what can i expect difference wise between the di large and small plenum im? the only reason i'm looking at the di large plenum is because i can get a good deal on it, about $200+ less than the magnus v5. i still want to maintain it at a streetable setup, with most power under the curve rather than peak horsepower ( i don't drag the car that often).

i'd like to break 600+whp with the addition of the im and getting retuned, but i don't want to lose too much of the low end power that i currently have with the stocker.

so what should i go with? di large plenum? magnus v5? ams f1? etc?

The Intake manifold you have now is more than slightly ported. It is pretty similar to the MAP Rev3.

The only answer for your specific requirements is the Magnus. The DI will lose power, the AMS is very close but does leave 10-15whp out the top off the table and loses 150rpm of spool.

aaron,
when you mean that the di will lose power, is that across the whole rpm range compared to the current ported stocker that i have now? i'm willing to sacrifice a little bit on the low end for a much better midrange/peak horsepower. do you not thing that a di large plenum with a 68mm/or stock tb can achieve this?

thoughts?

The Magnus gives you the performance gains, plus has the advantages of a cast manufacture, which is very unlikely to have any of the possible problems associated with sheet metal welded manifolds...

I love the power curve my car makes with the HTA3586 and the Buschur Racing sheetmetal intake manifold.

<< 723 whp & 569 ft/lbs of fun.

I would run the magnus v5. I was under the impression that a well ported im would peform better than the older Magnus SMIM. There is at least one thread out there that compared the two

thanks for all the input...seems like nobody is mentioning the driven innovations manifold. i currently have a large plenum driven innovations waiting to go it since i got a good deal on it, but i don't want to put it in yet until i get some more feedback from other people.

has anyone ever used the large plenum di manifold before?
