I think the cap may have been my issue even tho it was new i got another new one that actually has the 2 tightening spots. but what is the best way to put antifreeze in with out getting air bubble. to jack the front up so the radiator cap is the highest point, run the car to temp then fill slowly?

dont need to jack up the car really. leave it on the ground, start the car with the cap off from a bone cold start, let the car run till the fan kicks on and fill accordingly if needed

Well i drove it yesterday and it wasnt the new cap that didnt fix it. still pushed antifreeze into the overflow. Gonna do thermostat today just need a gasket for it. You dont need to drain the antifreeze to do it right?

The Evo thermostat comes with a gasket. BTW, you have to drain part of the antifreeze to install it. If you didn't get your new thermostat from Mitsu there is little chance it is the correct one. The parts houses sell only the Lancer thermostat which is smaller.

Well it is the right thermostat and i see how you dont need a gasket but now i need the one to the motor. Broke a bolt off in the housing. so had to take the whole thing off. and in order to get to it had to take the intercooler pipes off, and pipe to turbo with airfilter. then all the turbo and coolant lines and sensors from the housing... Who ever said a thermostat was an easy project... haha just hope this fixes my problem after all this work and aggravation.

GL getting her back together and running soon, you can monitor the exact temps with evoscan.

Haha well I had to take the intake pipes and intercooler pipes off kuz there kinda too big PO put them in. Couldnt even get a wrench or socket in there. then it was just all the stuff attached to the thermostat housing. Whats 'Evoscan' ?
