Car randomly dies?

Hey guys,

my I finally got my evo ix back after 2 weeks in the body shop. the day after, when i was pulling into a parking spot with no clutch or throttle, my car died, but with power still on. It happened so smoothly that I didnt notice until my wheel got hard to turn. I turned it on immediately. 5 days after, today, I was pulling out of a parking spot, but when i put it in neutral, my car di the same thing. Engine off, power on. I immediately try to turn the car on but it would just crank for a while and not turn on. I got a jump, but even then, it cranked for a while, then slowly turned on, and stayed on as I gave it gas. The car then drove fine, and turns on after being off.

This problem has only happened twice, but is too risky to let slip by...plugs are fine, about to check my battery. Sidenote: since I got my car back, the two orange corner lights do not come on, and I hear a weird high pitch quick noise that seems to be coming from the glove box area. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

What cams do you have? Does it bog or shake when it it dies? And does it always turn on right after or do u have trouble getting the engine to start again?

Not that any of the parts were broken, because the car was still fully drivable, but they replaced anything that had and slight bends or damage

X2 for the cam issue. Mine does it everynow and then, and also will have a little trouble getting back started takes it a little longer to crank over. Also if I go in the store or someplace really quick and the motor is still at operating temps it wants to take its time cranking over. When its cooler tho it fires right up.

I am not an expert but check into your power distribution and wiring. He did mess with your fan. If it was fuel it would probably shake and vibrate then cut off.

My 2005 evo is doing this. I will sometimes just let off the gas in neutral and then the car will die and not want to restart for a few minutes it just cranks. My logger loses contact with my ECU as though the ground has been dropped but everything else seems to be working (gauges etc)

First of all which ground is for the ecu so I can check it? I have re tightened all grounds I found under the hood.

Second, could my turbo timer be causing this? I just turned it off to see if it still occurs

OP probably got his car fixed quite some time ago. I still need help though. I can't imagine my Maf would cause the ecu to not get power.
