Something wrong with my evo

I made a thread a few days ago about my Evo making a thumping noise. Turned out to be a CV Axle and got that replaced. I know for a fact the car wasn't beaten on or test driven at the shop because I took a picture of the mileage and it was the exact same. Now on to the symptoms now:

I never noticed this before the thumping sound because if it was a CV Axle I didn't wanna boost at all but today when I went to do WOT in any gear something strange happens. The car builds boost, but it seems like it takes forever to build it. Then once it gets to about 5psi it seems like it starts to surge. THe boost keeps climbing but the car doesn't accelerate. And when I let off the throttle its as if the DV doesn't want to open.

I don't think changing a CV axle could cause anything like this? I checked my UICP and my LICP and they are both tight. Any ideas as what this could be? I can answer more questions if need be.

Thanks

I don't know if surging is the right word. But once it reaches 5psi you can hear the turbo continue to make boost but the car doesn't go anywhere and it feels as if the turbo is sort of having a hard time making the boost...and it takes a long time to get to 26psi.

Have you done an actual boost leak test or just checked to see if the clamps are tight?

Just checked clamps...haven't done a boost leak test. BUt could a boost leak cause my symptoms? It seems more of a mechanical problem to me...should I take a video and post it tomorrow?
