A lot of the time you get lockout is because of the clutch design. If his situation is like mine ( I could shift at 7.5k lighting fast and never miss a beat with my stocker. But now that I have a new clutch it will lock me out most of the time even at lower rpm shifts).

Option 1- change the fluid , bleed the line, remove restrictor pill , replace master/slave, Stiffer front motor mount.... I have done that and am still plagued with the issue.

Option 2- buy a clutch that is proven to give you fast shifting and is OK for daily driving....
Ummm actually this isn't about you... and just because you had the same problem on your "clutchmaster fx400" doesn't make it the same problem on an exedy stage 1 which is the clutch trevor has on his car. And he clearly stated "Since it was slipping, and would only get worse, I went ahead and had the shop install an Exedy Stage 1 (they wrote 1.5 on the bill ??) and that fixed the slip issue of course, but the peddle effort and chatter is more than I was expecting. The car makes about 330 whp and probably 300'ish torque I would assume." So that is why I bring up the #'s as they relate to his issue. Maybe you should stfu and read, it really is fundamental you know.

Trevor asked for opinions and thats what I gave him. You come in here and start spewing *** garbage about how much power that clutch can hold. He sounds like he just wants another clutch unless he can solve this problem.

Trevor

I suggest adjusting the clutch pedal like boosted was saying and then go through the option 1 that I said. And maybe even some shifter bushings to clean up any sogginess the stock bushings may have acquired.

English Racing... they do awesome work, and I'm very happy with them. They tuned the car before I bought it, and it performs very well for what's been done to the car (which is not much).

I just haven't been so fortunate with this clutch scenario, and I'm pretty sure they can help out with it, I just need to have them take a quick look.

Thanks for all the input - I'm really hoping for the adjustment issue to take care of it. I took the car out and drove for a while today, and even on easy shifts, it feels a little more notchy than it did before. It is real bad when cold, but then even after it's warm it will still do it driving around town, so I'm hoping perhaps the adjustment can help with that too. I would rather not pay for another clutch + install

I'm also hoping there isn't an issue with the tranny.. Sadly, I get this eerie feeling that the previous owner did not exactly baby the car...

Any other feedback is welcome, but I think the adjustment route sounds like the way to go for now. I will post up how that works and we'll go from there!

Trevor most Exedy stuff does not get lock out problems. So I am pretty sure if we adj it up higher that will be fixed. When I pulled it out of the shop it felt ok but some do need it adj more towards the top to get the shifts smooth.

I find IX have alot more chader then VIII due to the taller 1st gear. I assume you are comparing to your previous EVO which I think was a VIII which takes off alot nicer due to the lower 1st gear.

Oh yeah, sounds good... It sounds like an adjustment very well may be all that it needs, so I'd be happy to drop by and see how that can help.

My old car was an 8 RS that I bought new, and I go relatively easy on the clutch / tranny, so I'm guessing it's perhaps partially because this is a 9 and probably just needs some minor adjusting. Thanks for the help... car is doing quite well otherwise!
