TurboJunkie has a built motor with high static compression. Not a fair comparison.

9.5:1 is all. Built motor or not, I could make the same power if I used a 3 port or good EBC that can keep boost up out the top. The torque came from the spike which I had to do to get the boost where I wanted it out the top.

The head was stock to light port (been awhile), it had a dump that added a ton on the stock turbo and I believe was helping the White. I'll look for the dyno graph.

basic bolt on's, from the #'s I've seen...... were no more than a stock 9 turbo. In fact, the white LOST power over the 9 in some instances.

That was just one review, if it was so bad AMS wouldnt of used it in a pikes peak build, a FP white equipped EVO won pikes peak driven by David Kern

here is another review, no power loss......

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...no-inside.html

It basically spools faster than the 10.5 VIII turbo but makes a few HP more than a IX turbo, perfect for a upgrade from the stock 8 turbo, but not so much over a IX although it still will out power it but not by a whole lot.

So not worth it on the 9's unless it spools quite a bit faster and out powers it up top on the stock 4G with basic bolt ons.

If yu already have a IX turbo then yes not really worth it, although it does outspool it, and hold boost only slightly better. the new HTA 71 is a better choice if you want a mild upgrade, it flows 51 lb/min which is as much as the BBK FULL. you can also buy it without a IX core.

FP 71HTA™ for the Mitsubishi Evolution 9
