P0069 Code

I've been recently throwing a P0069 code out of the blue and I am not sure what is causing it. I searched and found out that the MAF could be the issue, so I decided to clean it; the CEL stayed off for a few days after I cleaned it and cleared the code and came back on again a few days ago and cleared itself shortly after. Also, the car sometimes (whether the light is on or off) idles like crap for a few seconds/minutes before resuming normal idle.

I'm assuming the next step is to just take it to the dealer, or is there anything else I should try/know about this code? The CEL isn't on currently, so would the dealer be able to see the past codes that were thrown? How much do you guys think a new MAF would run me? Thanks in advance.

im pretty sure the 69 code is for MAP sensor. did you change it recently or did anything to the ecu? is it running poorly?

No, nothing has been changed with the sensor or ECU. Like I said, the car runs normal 95% of the time and only occasionally starts to idle poorly.

is there any chance a boost leak would throw a maf code? if it's reading different air through the maf than what's getting to the motor is my reason for considering that...

Code is for abnormal correlation between map sensor and baro sensor and here are the possible causes

- Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor harness open or shorted to ground
- Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor poor electrical connection
- Faulty Barometric Pressure (BARO) sensor
- Faulty Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

I went to go get food a little while ago and the start up was rough. It was wanting to die initially then just started running normal. No CEL either. I think Im gonna take it in tomorrow morning.

Update for anyone else that may have this issue down the road. Dealer claimed it was the MAP sensor, as curse implied, and changed it. Will post again if the CEL comes back on. (It better not for $400).

You could have gotten like a omni 4 bar or something wouldnt have that been cheaper? I know those map sensors are only like 120 bucks and it takes like 3 mins to install? Or was that total with them doing dianostics?

That was the total for the sensor, labor, and whatever else they needed to do. I think the sensor itself was ~200 bucks.

I've got this code and I've had an omni4bar that's been running perfectly. It seems possible it's in accordance with an electrical issue, we'll see. If not I guess I'll buy a new omni4bar
