Just my opinion...

That's what this is...fixing it.

Low counts of knock isn't a major issue (debatable depending who you ask), a lot of people are content with 1 to 2 counts of knock and others won't tolerate a single count. Obviously 0 counts is ideal. I'm content with 1 count and a rare count of 2.

Have you logged a pull to see precisely how much knock you have?

+1... Knock sum is kind of an anomaly. I mean it’s basically a harmonic irregularity given off by the motor that is picked up by a sensor (microphone of sorts) if I am not mistaking. So when using Evoscan during logging you may see your knock sum at 1…1…1 then jump to 7 then back to 0 just between 4000-4250 rpm range. Hell I have seen them climb as high as 35 on some Evoscan spreadsheets. Now don’t misunderstand me, I’m not advocating that this is Ok or that you should ignore it by any means! And if your CEL light is flashing the way that you claim then you have much higher and consistent counts than 1-3. I don’t recall exactly what the baseline parameters are in Tephra Mod 7 for slow flash CEL vs quick flash CEL but because yours is flashing at all definitely keep your foot out of it.

You need to use a Tactrix 1.3 or 2.0 cable, or find an Evo specific tuning shop to retune the car or contact an tuner on this site that does tunes via e-mail. On top of this you will need Ecuflash and Evoscan

BTW, you don't have a 2006 Evo 8. If it is a 2006 then it is an Evo 9.

I also got these falshing problems, but in low boost, it appears from .1 to .6. Was it a false knock? Once it reaches .7 bar it disappears and the car runs hard at high boost..

This had Happened only after i changed from ebc to mbc.

It may or may not be false knock. I would log your car (if you have a means of doing so) and post in the tuning section of the forum for people to look at your logs. If this is not an option, bring your car to a tuner and make sure you get it logged/re-tuned. New boost controller may have changed when your car comes into boost and you may be hitting different load cells with leaner AFRs or more timing, etc... You may just be in line for another tune.
