evo died at 50 mph and never started again

So I need some input. I just had my motor built and a new head with 5 angle valve job and supertech valve train and picked up the car in conneticut. Broke in the motor for about 1200 miles. At about 600 miles the car developed a loud noise in the head. It was diagnosed by the engine builder as bad lifters. The lifters were replaced with new zero tick fax lifters. Fast forward to today. I get to Buschur racing for a tune on e85, my injectors clogged from **** in the tank. So we went back to pump and pte 1000. Car fired up and Dave got it idling with the old tune and the car started the so called lifters tick again. Dave decides let's pull the car off the dyno. Thank god. So the ticking clears up after a drive down the street, so I decided to drive the rest of the way home to Chicago. I get 14 miles from the shop and the noise started so I started to pull over and it just died. It rolled in gear so its not locked up. I get pop the hood and see the mivec bolt is rubbing the clear cam gear cover and timing belt also rubbing. The car wasnt turned over. I just called the tow truck. Thank god it had the cover on it it would have been 10x worse. Now the car is back at Buschur for a Dr. Appt with Dr Dan. Sorry for the long story. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Dave Buschur you probably saved me a ton of money. I hope.

Broken m2 intake camshaft. Hopefully the head isn't destroyed.

pistons hit valves and you may have deep enough scars in the pistons to need to replace them too. You're probably looking at $2500-4000

UU. ouch. Yes i believe you will have a misfire issue later on due to a crack piston. did you tune the computer lately? I believe you have to much timing advance you need to pull out some so it wont happen again.

The car only has 1200 miles on it. It was built by efi logics and its their base tune. The car has never been boosted since I've had it, only 3 weeks.

It is currently at ams and they discovered a broken cosworth m2 inlet cam. So we are waiting on the cam to do a compression test. The see how bad the situation is.

It's an evo 9 head, the cams came in the car so I'm not sure how old they are. They still look new.

I wouldn't worry. Cosworth has outstanding products and customer service. Call them and ask them if you should be concerned. This is only a mivec cam issue
