Going from Evo 9 turbo, to FP Black

Hey guys. I have a couple of questions. So, I'm considering finally upgrading my Evo IX turbo and going to a FP Black. I have heard that you can like send in my stock evo 9 turbo and they will trade/build me a FP Black for around $1100? Is this true? If so, will I need a new exhaust manifold?
On the exhaust manifold, I have a seen a few different ones out there, and looks wise i personally like the one that is on FastLearner's car. I really dig the flat black look. Any idea which one he uses, or similar ones out there? (I already asked him, just waiting to hear back from him and figured someone out there might know)
Awesome. Well that is all I have for now. Thanks in advance guys. I really appreciate any and all help. : )

FP blacks going to need more supporting mods to make it work right, hopefully the rest of your car isn't stock.

Stock exhaust manifold won't hold you back much if at all, porting it is a good option though.

Yeah, the car isn't stock. It's got a 2.4L fully built stroker motor. Just about the only thing on the car that isn't upgraded is the turbo. : (
Ok, and so on the exhaust manifold, it already is a custom one, but it literally is custom built by the previous owner. He owned a performance shop in Arizona. Also, any idea what exhaust manifold is on FastLearner's car? Here is a link.

Thanks again.

Technically a 2.4L is not a stroker motor. Its a 2.4L. A stroker is using a 2.0L with a larger crank which increases the "stroke" of the 2.0 to 2.2 or 2.3L...

He lists the manifold in this post:

"Turbo Manifold: Kaizenspeed “Medusa” EVO T3 w/ 2000 degree coating by Performance"

Ahh. Ok. My terminology is Bad. Still learning a lot. It is stroked to a 2.4L then. And ok thank you. Have you all heard of the service where you send in your turbo and get a FPBlack in return?

Send it to Forced Performance to get it turned into a black....that T3 manifold wont work with a stock framed turbo like the FP Black. You can bolt the black up directly to the manifold you currently have

The 2.4 setup uses a 4G64 shortblock so it's not really a "stroker" just a bigger setup to begin with.

A 2.3 is a stroker since it's a 4G63 with a longer stroke crank in it.

I am also wondering the same thing as I am looking to send my 9 in for either a red or black.

There are a TON of guys on here that have "heard" of the service

As long as your turbo is in good shape sending it in for conversion is the way to go, however if you've blown the holy **** out of it you'll need to buy the new one.

Give them a call, thats the best way to get your answers.
