Honestly don't think the extra 500 is too bad of a hit for ball bearing.

Very interested in seeing more results threads about these.

I wasn't sure if it had been brought up before. It was news to me so I thought I would share.

I wonder if they will take our stock turbos and convert them to the new BB Black.

Just got off the phone with FP.

They said the only thing that's the same from the original FP Black and this one, is the compressor wheel / compressor housing / hot side housing. ALL the internals are different.

They said don't expect to pay under 1,000 for the upgrade from journal bearing to ball bearing (they don't have final pricing yet).

FWIW, he said the biggest difference between the two turbos will be longevity and transient response between gear shifts.

I mentioned that I had the AMS oil pan, Kiggly HLA, FP Gen 2 oil feed line and AMSOIL 20W-50 and he said it probably wouldn't be worth my time upgrading until something broke and and with everything I've done that it will be a long time before my turbo fails.

If I upgrade anything, it will be to a 3586

YEEEEEEE! This is exciting. This makes more manufacturers that are going to BB turbos. Soon enough, all of the stock location turbos will be BB to remain competitive.

This is damn sexy. And it's a relative bargain, compared to what a BB conversion costs. And it's ceramic and patent pending
