Cracked block on Evo 8

I bought a wrecked Evo 8 but the engine block has a crack in it. I've been reading different forums and web sites regarding the 2.4L swap. I have a gallant 2.4L engine that also came with the car, since I already have the 2.4L block would it be better to just do a 2.4L build up? I bought the car for rally cross and rally racing so I'm not looking for high end power but more low to mid range. What are my options or suggestions that you guys have?

Thanks for any and all help.

what makes no sense what your asking? if you were given a 4g64 block use it build it up and get that displacement not a hard choice man. you will have stupid tq numbers for your lower end craving. the only other options you have would be to get another 4g63 block and build it into a 2.0 or 2.3. with the block you have now 2.4 or 2.1. dont forget you will require some extra parts to get the 4g64 block to mate to the evo head

Well, I am new to the Evo line and like I said was reading up on everything. Just wasn't finding the answers I was looking for. If the 2.4 is going to give me the low end power that Im looking for then your right. I just wasn't sure on what benefits I would be of the 2.4L swap. What would be a good turbo to run with the setup that would spool up quick and give me good power?
