spark blowout or bad tune?

Ok so Ive had my evo now for over a year. I bought it tuned already and it ran fine up until winter time. The smc alky pump started leaking and I got a new one and ever since then it has always had alittle miss or studder and ran alittle rich like 11.0 sometimes 10.9 so I figured buying the factory plugs would help instead of the ngk 8es but it still has alittle studder? Its the same exact pump and I have the controller set all the way up and it still acts like its blowing out spark.....

Well I let the car sit for 3 weeks and just took it out and tried to get on it and made the fouled plugs sound the quick studder sound and bogged worse than ever.... So I changed plugs and went for another pull and same thing? I am scared to rip on it any ideas of what to do ? It ran fine until I put the new alky pump on? but its same pump and my wideband reads fine 10.9- 11.3

Start with the basics...

Are you runing normal boost levels?

Have you done a boost leak test since this happened?

Swap to a fresh set of plugs bpr7es. Check the plug boot and make sure it is not obstructed. Check the connections to the coil packs.

Do some datalogs and post up.

As said above, a little more information would be useful. Are you still on stock coils? How many miles are one the car? What is your boost level? What is your plug gap? Have you tried a better plug? BPR7EIX's are the way to go.

Make sure the plug coils are bolted down tight, as even being a little loose can cause a miss. Try closing the gap on your plugs and see if that helps. Make sure the boots are still fine, and have the wires ever been changed if you're on stock coils?

You can rule out the tune part of it, if it ran fine before and just started missing.

Damn I have the same issue...my car does that studder and immediately goes to 11.1-10.9. Im hoping its a tuning issue since I just swapped turbos and am only on wastegate boost. I already changed my plugs, swapped to a COP system but still get the same thing. I go for a tune tomorrow so I will most likely be able to tell you whats going on tomorrow. If I forget, go ahead and pm me to see if we figure it out

Gap plugs to .22, if you check your out of the box plugs, they will be closer to .30. Most likely spark blowout due to denser colder air.

It happened to be my tune. I was pig rich and everytime I would hit the gas peddle, it would spudder. Took it to English and problem solved Might want to get your tune looked at as well if you have changed your plugs and whatnot already

Likely is not the tune. Reset the ECU, and see if the problem still exists.

Ralliart wires are fine, no need to change them. Either use them, or OEM.

Check the HKS DLI2, could be the culprit. They are known to go bad after time. Many good COP's out there..

Lower the boost to 20lbs, and see if the problem still exists.

I'd go with BR8ES, not the BPR's...@ 28lbs and alcohol, step colder plug is needed and gapped to .22

Yes, here's the test spray procedure:

Start Car
From a standstill: Hold RPMs @ 3000
Press Test button
RPMs should drop, and you should see the gauge display the appropriate level
