There are many methods in breaking a car in .... this is just one of them. Don't worry about it .... your evo is just fine.

whats the right way to break in the engine, my friend told me this was a myth but u all own evos and he doesnt

Break in period

Ok, the dealer told me the breakin was at 1000 miles, and the owners manual is 600 miles? which should i go by, I can't wait any longer.

I dopped the SHI* out of my clutch at 600miles have a video of it too. Motors are already broken in hense the full synthetic from the factory. ALl that needs to be broken in is the driveline. brakes, and tires. Enjoy...

ive never really heard of a break in period of a car(then again im a noob). can someone explain to me what this is for the EVO and how it is achieved? thanks guys

The manual says to vary the RPM's from 0-5000 on the Evo for its first 600miles, but I kept it under 3000 to avoid turbo spool up. Try to avoid all hwy miles and don't go wide open throttle (gas to the floor).

Because you want the engine to fluxuate in engine speeds instead of keeping it at one set RPM (like highway driving).

Don't' quote me on this, According Shiv at Visnhu, the car will run better and yield out more hp if change the original synthetic oil out and replace it w/ non synthetic for the during the break in period (1000-2500 miles).
