jdm 5th gear conversion

i have evo8 5 speed tranny with evo 9 1rst gear. i am planning to put the jdm 5th gear ratio(0.825/ 162mph@8000) instead of my long ratio(0.72/ 186mph@8000).
i dont dd my evo; usually friendly drags rolling till 5th gear. i am thinking it would be an advantage in keeping the car in the power band since rpm wont drop alot. however i am not planning to pay for 4.11 final drive at this time.
anyone did the conversion? is it worth?
thanks

i was thinking of the pros i will get from the conversion especially if we take into consideration that i will not go over 150mph in any friendly drag.
shifting now on (0.72 ratio) from 4th to 5th and rpm drops from 7900-8000 to 5500-5600, with the jdm ratio i guess rpm will drop to 6300-6400 and this will keep me in power band.
but still would like to hear other feedback.

yes its definitely worth it. Easier to get into 5th/faster shifting from 4th, the top end is shorter but if its for a road course its perfect, also benificial if for a DD and your speed limit is 55 or 60, you have less engine load a bit better mpg(of course, the 9 5th gets good mpg at 72ish.) As for top end, no need/dangerous on street anyways, and there aren't a whole ton of road courses you'll get that fast on without over 400 hp

lol its too short for a dd car sits at to many rpm at 100k (65miles)? Its the sole reason i sold my evo 6 was wasting gas and driving at 110kph would spool the turbo and just dump gas, driving at 90 with out spooling would save lots of gas tho

Honestly, My JDM Evo4's fear ratio is like there is not moving and 4th gear that's how close they are to each other, personally I would rather a little longer gear ratio.
