Resurfacing Flywheel Question
Wow, you instantly start off by name calling. I remember doing that when I was in middle school. You do understand that there are people in this world that are sometimes on a budget, right? The difference in resurfacing the oem flywheel ($40) versus lets say a Competition Clutch one ($290) is $250. While that might be chump change to some, but I still have a car payment, school loans and the regular monthly bills. Maybe next time I need a car part, I'll come to you since you seem to have $$ just lying around.
"How do you drive???" and "Someone needs to learn how to drive"...
Just how many sets of rotors have you used? I'm still using the oem ones with 129k on the clock and they've been turned once, and that was earlier this year. I envy you, since you clearly exhibit the skills to drive a car so efficiently and perfectly that you never wear the parts out.

You shouldn't take things to heart. And this is my second set of rotors, by the way. And I live in upstate New York where salt works wonders on rotors
Ok, so I got the flywheel back from the machine shop and the guy was able to get the dowels out and resurface it. I didn't pickup the flywheel so I couldn't ask the guy questions but I basically have no clue if he did a good job are not. What am I supposed to be looking for? The surface of the flywheel looks scruffed up and is a little rough to the touch. When I brought it in, it was very smooth and shiny and it probably didn't even need to be resurfaced but I've always heard you resurface no matter what and I figured I might as well considering it was the original clutch (looks new with plenty of meat on it) and the car has 107K on it. So how can I check this thing before I put it in my car and it destroys the tranny? How can I check the dowels to make sure they are seated properly and at the correct 'depth'? The flywheel is flat and not stepped, correct? How can I make sure it is balanced? Should I bring it to another shop to have them check the work? Should I stop playing games and just get a new flywheel just to be sure?
