Flywheel resurfacing
Flywheel resurfacing
Hey, took my flywheel ('02 Lancer 2.0L) to my machine shop to be resurfaced, they called and said they can't get the dowel pins out to cut it. Anyone know if there are any tricks or are they imbeciles? Very new to the lancer and imports. Thanks, jared
They are tough to remove from the flywheel, but vice grips seem to do the trick quite well. A little PB Blaster or WD-40 might help. Basically, I would question their ability to do their job competently...
Just got off the phone with Perfection Clutch (where the new clutch came from) they said any dual mass flywheel isn't recommended to be surfaced, should be replaced instead. They don't offer one, anyone got any ideas where to get one? Car's stock, maybe some slight aftermarket upgrades in the future, no power-adders or anything.
I've got the fidanza flywheel. Search around on this forum. It's a good flywheel and has replaceable wear pieces. I bought it in a kit so I couldn't tell you the part number.
Edit: Here's a link to their website for the flywheel.
