I'm sure it's because it's a 2.4L, and they're not going to need or want to rev it out to 8k or more to make power out of it, like the smaller displacement and more rev happy 2.0L. It's like Mr. Bradley said, "S1s are 268s and really emphasize peak power under 7k for the most part and wicked response."

I went with S1's on my BBK setup. Best decision ever.

They match the BBK perfectly..... spools fast, quick response, and hold power all the way to 7000, which is as high as I rev it.

truthfully the highest i rev my car is about 7.5K. i could have been fine with the S1's but i decided to go bigger just for the fact that once its done i didnt have to worry about upgrading again.

the way i see it all the cams listed are a great choice. it will all depend of the budget, and what the owner wants.

what about a staggered setup? S1 intake/S2 exhaust? Does anybody do that?

I'm stepping down from a 50trim into either the BBK lite or BBK full, and my biggest concern is spool and power under the curve since I don't really get to open it up much at all.

I want low and mid-range power, and some top end would be great, but i wouldn't really get to use it as much.

I wonder whether anyone has actually logged a back-to-back comparison between the S1's and the S2's on the same car for the purpose of comparing turbo spool up between the two GSC grinds on an VIII with a BBK or similar sized stock frame turbo.

It is accepted as common knowledge that the S1's will spool a turbo quicker than the S2's, but has anyone ever gone to the trouble of logging the difference between both just with respect to turbo spool up? Any boost logs out there by someone who has switched from S2's to S1's or vice versa?

Aaron points out that according to his data the S2 produces more power than the S1 at every RPM level, even in the low-end, and I don't doubt it. But, does the S1 actually spool a turbo up quicker than its big brother?

Get a BBK Full. I'm hitting full boost at around 3700-3800 rpms with 100% stock engine. It honestly spools like a stock turbo, and the transient response between shifts is amazing. Chad @ CBRD is really high on the BBK Full and GSC S2 combo.
