HELP!! bad cam sensor

so yesterday on the way home i stopped to get gas on my way home from work, and got back in my car to start it and it didnt start. So tried again and had a little puff of smoke come from under the hood so i pop the hood to find the coating on the ground to the cam sensor fried so i wrapped it back up with some tape. after installing a new sensoer the car fired right up no problems. got home today nad turned the car off for about 30 min and went to leave my house and the same thing happend.

so if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated! i know there are a few other threads but they all seem to have died quite some time ago.

thanks
corey
