How to get more HP/TQ up top on Evo 9 Turbo

So I am trying to get some more torque up in the top, to help me get down the quarter mile a little quicker. Current tune is at 28psi on E85. I can turn it up to 32-34psi however I dont want all that torque. I am pretty sure at 32+psi I will be making enough torque to put a rod through the block.

So I am looking for Ideas/Suggestions to get some more HP/TQ up in the top from 6500rpm-8000rpm.

Here is a Current Mods List
05 Evo RS
AEM EMS
AEM 5bar Map
GM AIT
MAP Version 2 Intake Manifold
FIC 1100cc
Walbro 255 HP(moded)
Evo9 Turbo
Buschur Ported Exhaust Manifold
Buschur Ported Turbine Housing
FP Anit Surge Cover
FP 25psi WGA
JMF O2 Dump
AEM Dry Filter on custom 3" intake
Nesei LICP/UICP
3" TBE w/Test pipe
Triggerdisc
AEM EBC
QuarterMaster Twin
Solid Engine Mounts
Gates Timing Belt
GSC S2 Cams
GSC Springs and Retainers
Stock Fuel Lines
Stock Fuel Rail
Stock Fuel Regulator
Stock Headstuds
Stock Bottom End
Stock Crank Pully
ETS 3.5" FMIC
Tial 50mm BOV

Currently at 452/449 in DJ on VDR.

You're in a tough spot bro. Seems that you have most mods covered that help in the top end...good cams, 25psi wga, ebc. Most people go with the 9 turbo/e85 combo for that hard hitting low end and midrange which is a blast to drive. Its gonna be tough to get anymore tq held in the top since its such a small turbo. You could always have some head work done, but you'll be paying tons of money per hp gained there...and may end up losing the lower end

Yea, you're basically not going to get much more power up top out of it. Going to a larger stock frame turbo would help out, but your still not going to see the up top TQ of a T3 type of setup.

Another thought....doesn't look like your leaning out up top too much so I'm sure the modded wally is doing ok, but maybe you could play with some of the newer fuel pumps and wiring to see if you could hold more boost? I'm no tuning expert but I know the basics...

You need to free up some back pressure to pick up power up top. Going to a 3.5" exhaust would help.

Lightweight rotors would help also. Like the Girodisc 2 piece.

So are you peaking at 28#? Does it taper down from the peak? IX turbos are legendary for their monster taper. If you could reduce taper and get it to that 28# of boost out the top...then you would probably be able to create more power up there

Yeah, I studied your boost plot and taper starts at about 5K further falling to 22# by 6K. Boost starts tapering right where the cams are getting into what should be the meatiest part of the powerband.

Is this puppy still boosting through the stock IC and TB? If so,I would do a BR Race IC or equivalent quality unit. There are several ported stock, or even larger billet TB's out there.

Maybe I would replace the ported stock manifold for an equal length long runner header such as a certain CBRD designed tubular which is tuned more for topend whereas the stocker design is not optimized as a topend power producer.

Moreover I would look to reduce boost taper. The BR porting job is OK I am sure but I would really hogout the turbine inlet area as well as the turbine oulet area totally. If you do the porting right it will hurt spoolup but help on the topend.

I'd like to see a picture of your air intake setup. Is it 4" straight through until you step it down to the compressor inlet diameter? Is the exit on the air filter a 4" diameter as well?

The tubular manifold would definitely help. Freeing up backpressure anywhere will help reduce taper thus increase your top end power.
