I think you should be fine with your goal of 600hp. Evosick2332 ran 700+whp on stock ignition without any issues.

Mine worked for about a year at 500whp, then the coils crapped out and the car started to misfire. Replaced with COP and its been doing great for over a year now.

or you can just get the used coils COP from http://spoolinup.com/

ignition is like a piece of mind upgrade if you want to avoid spark blow outs.

you should be fine. they just need enough power to create combustion. i believe 13 Kv is all thats needed on most cars and nothing more. even if its a 200,000 v ignition it dose not mean its going to use all 200,000v. On the other hand if you are going to be driving hard on a pretty regular basis it wouldn't hurt to get a new ignition. you don't want ignition failure at those power levels

I'm running stock coils. 40k miles on them total, 5k miles at 600+hp.

To answer your question, it really depends. Some stock coils if in good condition will support 600+whp. Like for example, Aaron@ER ran 750 on stock coils for almost a year. I am currently at 75owhp on stock coils too. I have a Spoolinup COP that I'm going to put back on the car just for the sake of it not missfiring and taking out my motor.

I highly recommend the spoolinup COP if you are a motor over 500whp if you can afford it. Matt the owner of spoolinup is a great guy too!
