Yep i have seen it happened to my clutch. I called my cousin at Exedy and he told me they all do that. Material is soft and it is suppose to save the clutch That piece is like 230 bucks.

Well I think they made mine just a little too soft! I could still see some of the original grind marks in the clutch face material, hardly even worn. So your saying I can get three clutch discs and center hub for $230?

This is the response I have gotten back! Really I spent top
Dollar for this? Exedy highlighted the yellow..... I highlighted the gray in response. Don't try and sell your BS to me, I Rockwell tested the hubs, all of them are under 18HRC

I will be testing a set of good hubs for comparison. I'm sure they will be higher than that!

I just installed a triple in my car, and this has me worried.
Although I rarely launch.

No worries, it's just they had a bad batch. They need to make it right. My clutch is over 2 years old, I bought it in 2015. But was not installed until last year, and has NO launches on it. Only roll racing.

Well even after doing a Rockwell test on the clutch hubs, proving this issue is a manufacturing defect, they still refused to replace the damaged parts. Hard to believe from a company that is supposed to be the best of the best. In a court of law they would have had no chance! anyone could see that a full ten points in Rockwell difference between discs is a manufacturer defect. Exedy is a BS company IMO, I will no longer be dealing with them in the future. Hopefully this will help some people in their future purchasing decision making.

The literature clearly states there is no warranty on stage 3 and above. You bought a racecar part. Racecar parts require racecar maintenance.

Not sure what your problem is you always have a negative reaction to all my posts. Read line 4 in the terms and conditions page. I clearly proved the hub was heat treated improperly, the machinists at work said it was clearly over tempered after heat treatment. 10 points difference on the RC scale speaks for itself. You will also notice all these failures happened around the same time, you don't hear of them anymore all pointing to a bad batch of clutches.

I asked the Exedy rep what the Rockwell was suppose to be, never got an answer, nor did they even want one of the bad disks to check it. That's telling me they already knew.

It sucks that you had an issue, but the product you bought doesn't come with a warranty.

ι have the triple disc for 12 years now and every 20.000 miles i change the 3 discs. However this time they only lasted for 6,000 miles. All the 3 discs were in bad condition as well as the middle plates. I got really disappointed.

Mine did not last 5000 miles in 4 years, doesnt even have over 500ft/lbs.

I contact exedy and they said it was install error or no clutch pedal stop.

For me its $800 to replace parts or buy a new clutch for $1800.

All options suck. I called and email evan with no answer at this time

Yea cause a pedal stop would do that, go F yourself Exedy.
It's a bull$it excuse for improper heat treatment of their clutches.

Get a cusco triple disc they are nice pieces.
