Exedy Triple - Have You Seen This Before?
Im getting ready to send my triple in for a rebuild aswell... The previous owner of my car must have installed it wrong and im pretty sure its cooked after 2k miles. What should I look for when re-installing the clutch?? It seems like theres quite a few people out there that have problems with these clutches. I really hope I don't spend over $1k on a rebuild only to last a few thousand miles...

I have the updated version in my car now. It only has about 100 break-in miles on it at this point. So, all I can say is that it shifts well, engages well, etc... I don't have anything to report as far as longevity is concerned. I will say that the spacers placed on the floaters have certainly quieted down the "triple rattle" that most of these clutches have when you are sitting at a light with the clutch pushed to the floor. There is far less rattle than in the past. That's all I have for now.
they have some new floaters that help reduce the amount of chatter too. I think they're still working on testing them. I should have my new setup soon. The one set of floaters I tested were causing some disengaugement problems. I'll know more in a few weeks.
not all of the triples seem to have problems. hopefully you'll be luck and not have any problems.
I have probably 50+ Launches on mine and a ton of full 1-4 gear runs. 550-600whp/490tq. Probably 3k miles on it.I followed the info on jacks trans website about proper clutch adjustment and I havnt had any probs.
Haven't talked to Evan yet because I'm almost certain I know what he will say. "Installation Error" he seems to be avoiding the issue it seems. I contacted MAPerformance, and opened up a claim with them and they will be contacting exedy and dealing with it directly.
