That looks like it would be better. In my pictures you'll notice that the inside splines of the hub are fine. Its the outside, larger but fewer splines, that are getting eatin' up. QM seems like they new of this problem and engineered against it.

BTW, in the Mustang world a t-5 trans has 10splines like the outside of the my Exedy hub , but a TKO trans has 26 smaller splines like your QM. The TKO input shaft will hold 300-400lbs torque more, just do to how they splined it.

My setup is basic - 2.3, Kelford 280HL cams, ported head, AMS intake, and here's the money shot - a Bullseye comp68r turbo. People need to wake up to the power these turbos make.

Here's a look at a Bullseye 83mm turbo I just bought for another car I have. The wheel is called the "batmowheel."

All the FP nuthuggers around here will tell you that these turbos are junk. Then the Precision guys will tell you the same thing.

This turbo is still T-3 based.... I will challenge any T-3 based turboed Evo to get on the same dyno with me and lets see who's car makes more power...

That's going to stir up A LOT of trouble. Especially with the drag racers that claim that dyno numbers are for show cars. They do make a ton of power on other cars though.

Just a note:

What you can't see from that pic is with the new QM "gear drive" hub disks the flywheel-side disk is part of that hub in the picture, so only one disk rides on those splines.

Hopefully my triple will be ok..... I was gonna look into the Qm 8 leg, but seen posts of guys saying they hate that clutch. I saw one post where a guy said he couldnt deal with it, sold it and got an exedy triple and loved it. Thats what sold me on mine.

Yeah, here are more pics. Mine is the street version with a heavier flywheel.

My car did not ET well this last year because I raced the car on street tires. But, I will tell you this, it mph'd like a ****. In fact, right in line with what I expected it to with the power it makes.

Also, my car is a full-weight, no cage, street car. I can only race it at local No ET events where they look the other way on cage stuff for this night only.

I have no complaints about the Exedy as far as drivability or the ability to hold the power goes. I just can't risk using this thing any more. If I continue to use it, its going to eat its way through those splines and destroy a lot of things when it comes apart.

Check some of my threads, I had the same issue asked the same questions and got no real answer. Exedy blamed everything under the sun except them selfs.

You have to take those comments with a grain of salt, most are talking about the old 6 leg or the 8 leg race clutch with the ultra light flywheel and short life clutch material. I dont think i have seen any reviews for the 8 leg with the street frictions and flywheel.

It's a poor design. It should be much larger in diameter and have a larger surface area to react the forces. Notice the QM has a much larger center drive spline?

Replace your hub at a minimum.

My horsepower numbers were on Speed Industries Mustang dyno that supposedly reads even lower. I don't know if it does or not. Remember, I didn't say that about the dyno reading lower. tcompusa said that, and I believe that was based on his personal tuning experience with another car, not mine.

For verification u would have to ask tcompusa, not me.
