oil light wont go off need advise

so i ran the car 2 days in a row about 10 min a peice and everything was fine. today i get in me and a buddy are going to cruise and notice after about 2 min of running the oil light comes on and doesnt go off. now if you shut the car off and turn it on the oil light does not come on instantly but after about 3 to 4 min it stays on. heres the kick i have good pressure, and there is no blockages as i can tell, no leaks no nothing. doing research it looks like it could be a toss up between the oil sending unit or oil pressure switch. but now i am thinking it is just the switch becuse if it was the sending unit wouldnt i have low pressure? like i said oil pressure is normal idling and cruising. car is full of oil, no leaks anywhere, and pressure is perfectly normal i hope its just the switch but wanted to see what you guys think

Do you have an oil pressure gauge? If the answer is yes and you trust it then you have the answers to your question - the switch/sending unit (they are the same thing and both names are correct) for the oil light is bad. If you do not have a gauge then it may be that you have no oil pressure. However, replace the switch and see if that fixes the problem.

The senders go bad all the time on these cars. I was questioning whether mine was bad or not last Fall, just said eff it and replaced it, problem solved. Turned out it had actually been out of spec since I bought the car in '10.

You can get new sensors at O'napazonequest for like $6, I don't even want to know what the dealer charges. It's just a simple .3 bar sensor, I can't imagine OE is any higher quality considering how often we see them fail.
