gcs s2 cams

gcs s2 cams

hello,if i put in my engine gsc s2 without springs and retainers,i will have a problem? i will work at 1.8-1.9 bar,and i dont know the redline,maybe 7900-8000..i have a built 2.0l and gt3076...

I would install springs & retainers. they arent exactly small cams. you risk valve float at higher rpm.

Without looking to be sure im nearly positive gsc specifically states the operating conditions for these cams on stock springs

No that's the s1..it says on their site they suggest spring with the cams unless u are gonna be on factory boost levels

Yes, you have to do springs and retainers. I don't know why you wouldn't anyway...stock valvesprings are going to float at high power levels regardless of cams...

if you rev over 7200rpm you need valve springs

if your going to do it do it right! replace the valve sping and retainers. saves you trouble down the road. and yes you have to replace them with the s2's with the s1's no you can run the stockers

Retainers are not needed as there is no proven breakage of retainers. Springs on the other hand are highly recommended with s2's. valvefloat avoidance. S3's require retainers though.
