Bov

few simple questions here about bov for 03 evo 8. I am new to all this bov stuff.... the bov i have was 40 bucks on ebay, guessing not good choice but anyway it doesn't not make the psshhhh sound anymore so is it possible it just stopped working cuz its junk?
2. What bov do some of you recommend?
3. Is it better to have a bov down where stock one is or one that mounts on intercooler pipe above?

Sorry if dumb questions like I said I am new and need some answers please.

Forget the HKS. Stock IX DV or Synapse are your best options IMO.

Use a stock EVO 9 BOV and get an open filter so you can hear it.

The plastic Evo 8 BOV is prone to leaking because the plastic is weakened over time. A simple and easy solution is to find a metal Evo 9 BOV or Evo 10 BOV. The metal makes the BOV last longer and has a stiffer diaphragm.

If you plan on keeping your set-up OEM then the metal BOV would be your best choice.

If you weld one on the upper pipe it will vent to the atmosphere (VTA) which for one makes your car run like **** unless running speed density (dont even ask) just stick with the stock location of it for now, get the evo ix bov or synapse anything that does NOT VTA. take your time gettting to know your car and reading here on the forums before attempting mods. Or go to a local tuner and see what you can maybe put together for ideas or what your goals are on this car. dont ruin your evo please

I have mine on the upper and have it recirced. The BOV can be a funny thing to upgrade can really be a pita to get right.
