Power drops when upshifting...
Hi,
can anyone share on how to improve or maintain the power/response when upshifting?
Can we adjust on the timing map and which rpm/load should we adjust?
Thanks

accelerator pumps are a setting in the ECU.
When you have a large change in TPS (e.g. when you floor it) you have to add extra fuel to get instant power.
If there is not extra fuel being added, it will add considerable lag.
e.g. you press on the throttle, and it will take 0.5 to 1.0 seconds to actually start to go.
If you're tuned to approx 12:1 AFR, when you floor it the fuel should momentarily go to approx 10.5:1 then back to 12:1

My car really response badly as whenever i full throttle (floor) my car just deep (afr deep til 10.5 and goes back to 13) and it seems have been added few hundred kilos of weight. Its just hard to catapult until ive to partial lift off and throttle again and again only than my car catapult!
Mind to advise me how to set the "Accelerator pumps setting" on my PFC ecu?
Lastly, will an incorrect injector scaling have a big effect on the entire response/tune performance?
Please

not to chime in but uve been havin a lot of issues with your evo, through previous threads, not to question your abilities, but in your case I would have a remote tune done through a vendor here, all you need is a laptop and tactrix cable, my guess your fuel trims arent right, which throws your tune off. Especially if you say if you floor it and it hits 10.5 then goes up to 13.0 if its going 13.0 in higher rpms thats dangerous lean. So something fuel related isnt right, thus the brick wall feeling and excessive laggyness. Trust me a properly tuned car should pull hard through the whole rpm range.
Good luck hope it helps.

then ang wen his best bet is to go to a shop that has a dyno n is capable of tuning the power fc, or getting in touch with apexi, and have him tune the car, or give him some pointers, because from what hes sayin earlier, his midrange is going fat rich, and then going lean in higher rpms, definitely not good, his engines not liking that, and these engines while good, are very temper mental.
