quick question evo trans

Hey guys so my 6th gear finally pooped out.
Right before my 20 hour drive to Florida.
So I replaced all the oils and still no luck.
If I drive this puppy in 5th cross country am I gonna
Be causing serious damage if I keep the revs near 4k?

Around 4K ....that's higher than I would feel comfortable driving cross country with....maybe across town (OK maybe across my state) but not cross country...IMO.

Otherwise just keep it at a lower RPM range...and closer to the slow lane

Thanks for the quick response. Ide have someone look at it in Kansas but theres no shops within a 500 mile radius. Was hoping to get it to Florida and take it to a reputable shop.

No Prob!

500 miles is closer than Florida..just saying....

Hopefully someone else more knowledgable will chime in to help you out.

EDIT** A phone call is a lot closer than Florida!! LOL....I would call up a reputable shop and explain your situation to them and see what they say....understand it is ultimately YOUR decision so don't bash on anyone if you do drive it to Florida in the condition it is in and the whole tranny ends up grenading on you somewhere along your drive there.

GL!!

Hell it doesn't know what speed you are going in 5th gear. Like the above poster said at 70 mph I'm right around 3000 rpm with my 5 speed.

I don't think you will have any problems you will just use more gas is all.
