AEM cai install funkiness

Hey all..

I just installed an AEM CAI on my Evo IX MR, and noticed the tolerances on their parts are way off.

I have about 1" of gap between the rubber connector and the edge of the turbo.. and about .5" of a gap between the end of the intake mount and where it's supposed to go. Not to mention the BOV was sort of a ***** to get fitted into position. Almost every piece is right on the edge of it's rubber connector.

Is it possible I just got a bad kit? Is it really meant to be that loose fitting? Did I just **** up the install?

Are you installing this with the stock UICP? As far as I know, AEM designed the intake to fit with the stock pieces so once you start mixing and matching different brands, fitment becomes poor.

Yep, all stock components... It seems like even without the BOV connected, the tubing start to finish wouldn't be long enough to both connect fully to the turbo and for the air intake to bolt in place
