Question for all Engine builders

I know everyone has their fav parts they like to use this question is in reguards to Rod and main bearings.. Now most people ive talked to swear by ACL or Clevite, but ive really had my eyes on trying some King Bearings and ordering them with the optional ceramic coating.

http://www.maperformance.com/king-ma...s-dsm-evo.html

Has anyone used this and what kind of results did you see from them? what was your motor combination and HP output?

my motor is a 2.0L aluminum rod 9.1 comp motor, WHP should be in the 730-750 area. Im doing everything i can think of to make my combination as efficent as possible esp by reducing friction where i can. im going to be using an ESP armor coated eagle crank also for this very reason and was wondering if these main and rod bearings would be a good match ?

king makes great bearings. are you sure its a ceramic coating? ceramic is much harder than steel and would be a terrible surface for the crank to mate with. you want the bearings to be softer than the crank.

It mentions on the site on the drop down that it is a dry film lubricant.

guess its both lol

Do you want lowered friction and more galling protection from your bearings? Then our advanced dry film lubricant ceramic coating is what you need. This coating will not need any changes to clearances as it bonds at 20 millionths of an inch or can be buffed to a "0" tolerance while still retaining it's properties. This coating will greatly reduce power robbing friction and actively retain oil films even after sitting for months or being oil starved in high-g racing to minimize the chances of a galled bearing. A must have for anyone looking for safety and longevity in their bottom end.

has anyone or any shop had experiance with these bearings? my main concern is esp since im building an Aluminum rod motor would these be my best choice?

again im wanting to reduce as much friction in the rotating assembly that i can and also hope i get the most run time out of the engine possible

We've used both ACL Race and King XP bearings in our race engines without issue, can't go wrong either way.

a guy on the subaru forum had a lot of trouble with the dimensions of acl's (as did many others). he bought a box of kings, and they were very consistent. something to consider.

thanks for your input ..yeah thats def something very important to keep all the tolerances the same. did he Mic all the once he had and keep sending back the ones that were mismatched?
