bbk lite

hey guys i had an 03 evo but i just got a 2006 ix. The car i bought was stock with just an intake and a tune. I installed boost guage and wideband and a few bolt ons i had from my old car and i want to put on my bbk lite and port and polished intake mani with buschur throttle body. My question is do i have to baby the car before i get a tune. I plan on getting a tune in 3-4 weeks but i was wondering if i can mess up the car with that turbo on and no re-tune. I like to have fun with the car but i dont want to break something becuz of being so foolish so i turn to you evo owners

Bigger turbo--even if its a little bit bigger pushes more air and needs more fuel. Why not wait until you have the money for the tune and then bolt on the turbo then and get it tuned. The alternative of thinking your not going to get into the new turbo for a few weeks and just drive it around will lead to more then the cost of a tune for a moment of fun.

I would not run it hard without a tune. In fact, if I was in your situation, I would stay out of boost if you must install the parts now and wait a few weeks before tune. Who will be tuning?

I am going to wait till the time comes for a tune. Had nothing to do this weekend so the thought came in mind. Just wasnt 100% sure if i could do some serious damage or not.

yea, no matter how much you try to baby it, its hard not hitting boost even if unintentional.. just install it before the tune, or have your tuner send u a map thatll get you through if you really want to get it on the car
